Audience Member Gritty, brilliant, but short lived series (only 9 episodes from 1996-1997) from the mind of Paul Haggis (Due South, The Black Donnellys). The series (which aired in the UK late night on Channel 4 during 1997) deals with the interconnected and decaying lives of the criminals, politicians and police officers of an equally decaying city. Joe Pantoliano (The Matrix, Bad Boys), Ken Olin (TV's Thirty Something), Jason Gedrick (Luck, Boomtown, Iron Eagle) and Carl Lumbly (Cagney & Lacey) all deliver solid performances. While the pilot and some episodes are (now out of print) on DVD, the whole series has not, to date been released. Might be something to do with the lack of a proper ending as the series was cancelled before any of the tangled plot lines were resolved. Look for Rod Stieger (In the Heat of the Night, The Specialist) as a special guest in the pilot. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
