Cartas delivers what is probably his best film, a solid police thriller, full of adrenaline and a sense of danger, with some well-executed action scenes, perfect performances from the trio of protagonists, and a hopeful ending. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Though violence is non-negotiable in a narrative like this, it is never too much, making it a believable 36 hours in the lives of two cops on a confidential operation. Go to Full Review

Chava Cartas does not set out to deliver a definitive reconstruction [of events], but rather to imagine the dilemma of two ordinary officers forced to guard a man who can buy off their superiors and reach their families. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

La Captura turns an extraordinary true story into a conventional thriller. Alfonso Herrera and Noé Hernández bring tension and chemistry, but uneven pacing, thin characters and an over-stylized direction keep it from reaching its full potential. Go to Full Review

It's not a film for those looking for another dose of shootouts, chases, and drug traffickers turned celebrities, but rather for those who prefer sustained tension... [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Focusing primarily on the two federal officers trapped in a high-stakes standoff while holding El Chapo, the screenplay maintains a tight, claustrophobic atmosphere that keeps the narrative moving at a solid pace. The psychological tension surrounding massive cartel bribes and constant death threats prevents the story from ever feeling boring. However, the film is held back by bland execution. The action sequences feel generic and lack weight, while the lead performances remain fairly flat, treating the characters more like law-enforcement tropes than fully developed people. While it doesn't quite stick the landing as a top-tier action thriller, it remains an entertaining, worthwhile watch for fans of real-world crime stories. See more Juna E @Ja.Elite 4 days ago It was believable! At times felt like the endings of scenes were like a fair tale though. Still kept my attention was good amount of action for action film lovers. See more Davide G @RT28136038 5 days ago Good movie to spend a night to watch on.
