To the students at Harrington High, the principal and her posse of teachers have always been a little odd, but lately they've been behaving positively alien. Controlled by otherworldly parasites, the faculty try to infect students one by one. Cheerleader Delilah (Jordana Brewster), football player Stan (Shawn Hatosy), drug dealer Zeke (Josh Hartnett) and new girl Marybeth (Laura Harris) team up with some of their other classmates to fight back against the invaders.

Some of this is fun in a low-grade Hellraiser sort of way, but it reduces the script’s mildest ambitions to hamburger. In The Faculty, it’s Kevin Williamson’s talent that turns into a pod of itself. Go to Full Review

This smart, involving sci-fi picture, set in an Ohio high school, pays homage to several genre faves, notably Invasion of the Body Snatchers and The Thing. Go to Full Review

The Faculty consistently draws attention to its own ill-joined cracks and seams. Go to Full Review

A slam-dunk premise is left dangling by a limited cast and general sluggishness from the usually excitable helmer, who never gets the feature up to speed as a chiller or thriller. Go to Full Review

In nearly every aspect, The Faculty acts as collage. Admittedly, there are virtually no new ideas here, but rather homages to forebears, direct references to contemporary influences and modernization of classic sci-fi tropes. Go to Full Review

The Faculty is an engaging story that breezes by with an energetic fervor that doesn’t slack on bringing the horror when it needs to. Go to Full Review

TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 6d The Faculty is a 90s horror film that successfully blends suspense, sci-fi, and teen drama into an engaging experience. Josh Hartnett and Elijah Wood deliver charismatic performances that make their characters relatable, while Jordan Brewster adds charm and depth to the ensemble. The screenplay balances tension, humor, and character development, allowing each cast member to shine while building suspense around the alien takeover of the high school. The director handles the story well, creating a sense of paranoia and mistrust as the plot unfolds, and uses Salma Hayek and Usher effectively in supporting roles. Visually, practical effects and subtle CGI make the alien transformations believable without overpowering the story. The pacing keeps the audience invested, with scares and plot twists carefully timed. The ensemble cast’s chemistry heightens the stakes, making every threat feel real. See more John C @JayDizzle209 Oct 16 It was the best horror movie of that year so it did something right. Although a copy of a more recent horror film (invasion of the body snatchers) it still manages to hold onto it's younger audience with it's visually appealing, awesome special effects and handful of bodacious young actors who are now super famous. You won't be bored and the soundtrack is rightfully killer. For it's time, it was pretty bad ass and very popular with the younger people. Adults with an open mind will enjoy it too. See more Ray C Oct 14 A fun and effective 90's body horror with a great cast. Robert Patrick delivers a particularly memorable performance. Some of the character relationships hold it back for me however. They feel poorly written and weak. See more Jelisije J Sep 16 A lot of famous actors started off in film where the premise is a basic alien invasion and yet its up to a bunch of teenagers to take them down........idk why i enjoy this film, but I do.
