Michael Booth Denver Post Feels like a movie you'd find late at night on a film-festival program, sincere and worthy, yet not quite watchable. Rated: 1.5/4 Jul 7, 2006 Full Review Jeff Shannon Seattle Times This is an indie film in the genuine spirit of the word (not some studio-subsidized boutique product), showing compassion while following its own course of low-key redemption. Rated: 2.5/4 Jul 6, 2006 Full Review Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle Like a real neighborhood, it pulses with its own unique heartbeat, and it's one that deserves to be heard. Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 6, 2006 Full Review Walter Chaw Film Freak Central The picture is hopeless: hopelessly earnest, hopelessly well-intentioned, hopelessly bad. Rated: 0.5/4 Aug 27, 2006 Full Review Oz eFilmCritic.com Rated: 3/5 Jul 8, 2006 Full Review Robert Denerstein Denver Rocky Mountain News Seems to have grown from careful observation, but this could be a case where one story would have trumped many. J S This was an accurate retelling of Gov Mcgreevy's very public fall from grace. But it is more a story of redemption. His regrets seem sincere and heartfelt. The film maker captures his incredible gift/ ability to connect with people from every walk of life and proof of his sustained, self imposed "penance"--to go forward devoted to a life of service. A beautiful film.
