Steve D The actors all do solid jobs including its singing star. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review jon c John Mellencamp stars and directs himself next to Mariel Hemingway Burned-out country singer Bud Parks returns to his home town in Indiana after a long stretch on the road Bud and his wife Alice realize that the Parks family is having problems and soon find themselves tangled up in a web of lies and deceit threatening their own marriage His father never believed in his music career nor did he care about his feelings Bud has to come to terms with his own past catching up, the secrets of his heart and the truth changes everyone forever The movie is kinda uneventful It's a shame too Hemingway disappears after the 2nd half Mellencamp has no urgency with his narrative and just lingers a lot Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Cautionary tale for the alter ego of Mr Mellencamp; generally good performances for a fairly standard predictable movie Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie completely lagged on. We didn't care for the direction or the quality of sound, which seem to increase in volume in places so much that it was jarring. The movie has dark undertones and is not a romance movie, though the medium from which we reviewed it categorized it as that. All in all, what a complete waste of an afternoon. We love John Mellencamp, don't get us wrong, but this movie was long & tedious. We would have had a much more enjoyable time viewing concert footage. Sorry John, we didn't care for this one at all but we still love your music! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Surprisingly good movie. One of the few rock stars to get it right.
