When his brother kills himself and his mother dies shortly afterward, Danish screenwriter Sami Saif decides to track down his father, an airline pilot who abandoned his family years ago and now lives in Yemen. With the help of his girlfriend, documentarian Phie Ambo, Sami tries to get in touch with his father. Despite being initially rebuffed by extended family, Saif comes to Yemen and meets his relatives while struggling to come to terms with his mortality.
