Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express More stagey than menacing... Rated: 2/5 Feb 3, 2023 Full Review Tatsam Mukherjee The Wire (INDIA) ... Mehta and writers Raghav Kakkar and Kashyap Kapoor use the mould of a hostage film as a smokescreen, to meditate on religious dogma and fundamentalist beliefs. Jan 8, 2024 Full Review Ishita Sengupta OTTplay This visual emphasis, a striking departure from popular perception, forms the genesis of Mehta’s recent work; it underlines the film’s preoccupation with uncovering the language of terrorism and not its face. Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Rohan Naahar The Indian Express Well-intentioned and well-acted, director Hansal Mehta's film uses its characters as pawns, and ultimately sacrifices them at the altar of politics. Apr 5, 2023 Full Review Prathyush Parasuraman Film Companion Cinematically, its dryness, its distracted wobbling between being dramatic and being subtle, being humorous and being ironic, rings a false note. Feb 6, 2023 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix Based on true events, Faraaz is an intense thriller that rises above some of its hostage-movie clichés with credible performances from most of the cast. Arun Kumar A gripping movie with dark comedy, shows true Islamic terrorist attack in a realistic way. This shows how Islamic terror has taken deep roots in many countries and certain sympethisers are turning blind eye to these attrocities. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/26/24 Full Review Saiyid M This movie was based on clearly putting Muslims down. But apart from that the producers should realize it's the year 2023. Since the country is a 3rd world country and God knows till when it's going to be still at the development mode is the reason they make these type of movies which is clearly not based on all true events. But I would like to recommend the producers make movies that move there own up in the corporate world instead of pulling there own brothers leg to toss them below. The nature of people will not change nor the state of being a 3rd world country until you change the habit of moving ahead and thinking about yourself and your own people. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/07/23 Full Review Md. Akter H Completely wrong and misleading Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/29/23 Full Review Jack z Aditya Rawal is outstanding as the hare-brained terrorist. Juhu Babbar as the mother is also spot on. The movie kept you engrossed throughout it's running time of nearly 2 hours. I liked Hansal Mehta's sensitive handling of the story. I am truly surprised that the reviews by and large hasn't been all that effusive. The movie can be identified by an international audience. Many of the true stories that are made into movies tend to fall flat, but not this one. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/02/23 Full Review Kifayet A exploitation of a real life tragedy. literally milking a disaster for money where the families of the victims involved didnt even give their consent. truly rotten and truly unethical Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review chaitanya m More than everything, it's a timely film. Despite the theme of the movie and general grim mood, it has a lot of funny moments. Never gets too much on the nose, even when delivering messaging, and otherwise runs on subtlety. I've heard comments asking why the movie is in Hindi; I would like to ask those why they didn't complain when Chernobyl show was in English. It's a pretty common technique to deliver movie to a certain audience. My only major problem with the movie is that volume of dialogues was little low, would have greatly benefited from subtitles. A must watch and can be watched by a global audience. If you don't wanna go to a theatre, wait till it comes on Netflix, but definitely give it a watch.
