Audience Member Experimentation can be good if you're going somewhere with it. This was not going anywhere. great cinematography and soundtrack, though. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I think there's something that I missed because I went to the movies 10 minutes late so I felt kinda lost! However, I still enjoyed the symbolism, the lil things like their facial expressions or the music and the enshad <3 It was a beautiful new experience after all. The latest work by Ahmad Abdalla not only feels incredibly brave but also urgently recent given the scenes of violence and revolt that came out of Egypt this past summer. This film is quite a painful examination of the high price to pay for important change but also explores a side to the revolution that is often overlooked - one of fear and confusion. In fact, the prisoner whose story we follow has nothing much to say and neither do the other people he encounters. We too never know where the story will lead us. This makes for a very demanding and yet rewardingly realistic approach as well as an unsettling atmosphere of unsuspected and unknown imminent danger. Actor Asser Yassin adds more power to the Rags and Tatters sxperience with his performance as the central character. His pain ridden facial expressions are full of sadness, melancholia, disorientation and disenchantment. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
