JOE J 1980s completely underrated movie, that got its thunder stolen by breakin' in 1984, should have had a bigger audience, especially being directed by the great Sidney Poitier with great music by the great Quincy Jones. It is also a great record of the great Tony winning actress Irene Worth, in a flashy an important supporting role. The soundtrack is full of great songs that should have been top 10 hits. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/16/24 Full Review Steve D Poitier seems incompetent here. Good thing he directed many better things. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I first saw this in 1996 when I was 12. It's great for young people and the music has been stuck in my head ever since.
