Don Franklin started his career in Chicago-area theater, but has since become a well-known film and TV actor. He appeared in numerous plays and revues during the '80s while making minor appearances in TV series such as the popular family sitcom "The Cosby Show." His first major role came on the primetime Western series "The Young Riders" as Noah Dixon, a free-born African-American who joins the Pony Express. In addition to numerous other roles, from 1993 to 1996 Franklin portrayed Commander Jonathan Ford on "seaQuest DSV," a sci-fi series set in a future where humans are forced to live undersea.
