Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Too crudely executed to make much of an impact. Nov 9, 2007 Full Review Stephen Holden New York Times Ends up stranded between two concepts. Rated: 2/5 Nov 4, 2007 Full Review Lou Lumenick New York Post Big-hearted and often quite funny if crudely made, Fat Girls cleverly subverts the clichs of high school comedies to serve an autobiographical story. Rated: 3/4 Nov 3, 2007 Full Review David Lamble Bay Area Reporter A seductive deadpan comedy in the style of the uber-nerdy Napoleon Dynamite, by Paris, Texas wunderkind Ash Christian, still in his teens, Fat Girls will leave you smiling. May 12, 2020 Full Review Reel.com Rated: 2/4 Nov 17, 2007 Full Review Cole Smithey ColeSmithey.com Amateurish to distraction, this modern-day satire about growing up gay in a small town has such a minimal pulse that you may well wonder if first-time writer/director/actor Ash Parish didn't burn his script before shooting began. Audience Member I wasn't bored with "Fat Girls" and it was pretty good for a low budget film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Cobbled-together amateur effort, though not without a smidgen of charm. Granted, that charm lies more in the moments of transgressive John Waters-esque comedy than in the sentimental coming of age story. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member I couldn't make it through the entire movie. It wasn't what I was expecting. Just blah. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't know how to feel about this flick, it's a fun mix between a serious story with teenage issues, and making fun of everything. I did like it, but it didn't really give me that yeaaahh feeling, it was just blah. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Awsomeness put on film! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie has some laugh out loud scenes and is about a high school senior who comes to terms with not just being gay, but accepting and liking himself.
