Aaron Neuwirth We Live Entertainment Efforts involving miniature work and practical effects sat well; I just wish this movie didn’t feel so much like a fish out of water. Rated: 4/10 Jun 13, 2025 Full Review Paul Lê Tales from the Paulside There are those shark tales where it's clear there was no desire for uniqueness, causing the final product to get lost at sea, so to speak. Thankfully, Fear Below isn't, or rather it shouldn't be, one of those movies. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 8, 2025 Full Review Alan Mount Starburst Fear Below is a suspenseful, well acted and directed little thriller of the old-school variety. Joseph C Nice premise, a shark movie set in 1940's Australia, but lagging on story and action. A missed opportunity. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/21/25 Full Review Justin W This is a far better than average shark movie. You wouldn't know it from the poster, but the plot has an original spin on it, the acting is solid, fx not bad, and ever all is an enjoyable film that is definitely worth a watch. I felt bad for the actors though having to stand around with all those flies buzzing on their faces for so long. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/19/25 Full Review Claudio C Fear Below (2025) Unoriginal, Predictable but Highly Entertaining (11,922 - 18 Sep 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) In the 40’s, in Australia, the driver of a van of a gang drives off the road and falls into a lake. The leader, Dylan “Bull” Maddock (Jake Ryan), who is in another car, kills him and looks for divers to retrieve his cargo. Meanwhile, Ernie Morgan (Arthur Angel), who owns the Sea Dog Diving Company, tells his employes Jimmy Barriakada (Jacob Junior Nayinggul) and Clara Bennett (Hermione Corfield), that the company is near bankruptcy. Out of the blue, Maddock arrives with the gangsters Janusz Wojcik (Josh McConville) and Shaun Cullen (Maximillian Johnson) and offers 250 pounds in advance for Ernie and his team retrieving his cargo and another 250 pounds when the work is done. However, the diving team finds a bull shark in the river and cannot dive. Maddock hires a fisherman to catch and kill the shark, but the plan goes awry. Now the gangsters force the divers to retrieve the cargo; otherwise, they will be killed. Anyway, this is their plan. “Fear Below” (2025) is an unoriginal, predictable but highly entertaining. The plot is a combination of “Lake Placid” franchise and other shark movies in a gangster environment. Hermione Corfield repeats her role of a diver, this time pressed by gangsters that robbed a fortune in gold. But the film is well made by Matthew Holmes and is attractive for viewers looking for a non-pretentious entertainment. My vote is six Title (Brazil): “Terror no Rio” (“Terror in the River”) My Blog: https://maniacosporfilme.wordpress.com/ Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/18/25 Full Review Giorgio G Most shark movies are utter idiotic crap, but this one here isn't all that bad. Yes, it's quite cheaply made, for sure, but having the twist of being in a river, and having some gangsters with a heist story, gives it a certain flair. 5 out of 10 points. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/27/25 Full Review Ana G I'm tired of sharks movies without sharks, I mean, give me something. The plot is boring and without any action Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/26/25 Full Review Richard Y Another shark movie but this one has a reasonably good plot. Though seemingly cheaply made but it's tense and thrilling. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/25/25 Full Review Read all reviews
