Based on actual events in the life of award-winning writer/director Dean Lent (Gas Food Lodging, Border Radio), recalling the time that he, along with three high school buddies, embarked on a '70s road trip to the now-defunct Mustang Ranch brothel in Nevada in an attempt to prove to himself that he was actually heterosexual (it didn't stick).

Murtada Elfadl Variety Lent uses subtle innuendos to arrive at complete clarity about sexuality without being obvious. That’s no easy feat. That he did it while telling a story both moving and funny is something to be admired. Dec 28, 2024 Full Review David-Elijah Nahmod Bay Area Reporter It's Lent's own story, and he tells it in a film that's evocative and quite lovely. Oct 29, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Harold S A beautifully told story of relationships, healing, and forging new paths. The writing and directing are exceptional! I'm eagerly anticipating either a sequel or a prequel to continue this wonderful narrative. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/12/25 Full Review Sarah F I absolutely adored this film from start to finish! If you believe sexual confusion is a modern phenomenon, think again. Navigating non-heterosexual identities or facing confusion must have been incredibly challenging in the 70s, and this film addresses the topic with grace and beauty. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/12/25 Full Review Terry P The movie draws on the director's real-life experiences, adding depth and beauty to the film. The four main characters are endearing, and Blaine Kern delivers a masterful performance as the older brother. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/12/25 Full Review Elaine S The film's perfect 70s setting makes it effortlessly enjoyable. The performances are outstanding, with Marguerite Moreau, Jonathan Silverman, and a particularly dashing Tyler Lawrence Gray leading the pack. Newcomer Oliver Hibbs Wyman shines as Marc, capturing the audience's attention throughout. I was completely captivated. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/12/25 Full Review Jessica P I didn't know what to expect, but I was captivated and glued to the screen until the very end. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/12/25 Full Review Sherry N I could really relate to this film at times. It's a seriously entertaining comedy that strikes a perfect balance between humor and insight, delivering lots of laughs while also offering deep reflections on sexuality and friendship Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/12/25 Full Review Read all reviews
