Ferrari is set during the summer of 1957. Behind the spectacle and danger of 1950's Formula 1, ex-racer, Enzo Ferrari, is in crisis. Bankruptcy stalks the company he and his wife, Laura, built from nothing ten years earlier. Their tempestuous marriage struggles with the mourning for their one son. Ferrari struggles with the acknowledgement of another. His drivers' lust to win pushes them out to the edge. Too much time spent on Enzo's relationships with his wife and mistress. Hardly illuminating news nowadays. I would have been more interested in both racing and passenger car evolution during his lifetime. Perhaps more of his upbringing, More of a biopic. Later years ? For these reasons, this movie was a bit flat for me.

Costumes and decors of 1957 Italy. The movie shows more an ambiance of post war car racing and 3 major car italian magnates competition than technical aspects and races. Very well portrayed
