      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Sleek and well-acted, Ferrari overcomes its occasionally underpowered narrative to deliver a rousing and admirably complex biopic.

      Audience Says

Great performances from Adam Driver and Penélope Cruz are enough to keep Ferrari worth watching in spite of a story that feels surprisingly slow.

Elizabeth Weitzman Time Out Cruz makes an indelible impact, investing Laura with a sorrowful anger that feels both earned and true. Rated: 3/5 Jun 14, 2024 Full Review Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) The race scenes are charged but the highlight is Cruz’s grieving matriarch: it’s a titanic performance. Apr 4, 2024 Full Review Ty Burr Ty Burr's Watch List (Substack) The film exemplifies seriousness of purpose – both its maker’s and its subject’s – without ever turning pretentious, and that’s something. Rated: 3/4 Feb 23, 2024 Full Review Craig D. Lindsey Metro Times (Detroit, MI) If anything, Mann presents Ferrari as a Great Man Biopic that also doubles as an operatic tragedy. Jun 11, 2024 Full Review Robert W. Butler Butler's Cinema Scene Great performances from Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz notwithstanding, Ferrari is a hard movie to warm up to… because its subject is a hard man to like. Rated: B- Jun 7, 2024 Full Review Jeffrey Overstreet Looking Closer As vividly as it portrays the harm done by Ferrari’s arrogance and irresponsibility, I still think that audiences will come away even more enamored of the brand, and that some will likely come away thinking of Enzo as some kind of hero. David S Too much time spent on Enzo's relationships with his wife and mistress. Hardly illuminating news nowadays. I would have been more interested in both racing and passenger car evolution during his lifetime. Perhaps more of his upbringing, More of a biopic. Later years ? For these reasons, this movie was a bit flat for me. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/24 Full Review alan Great story. Need to listen cat to understand the English/ Italian accent. Very moving Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/24 Full Review Josephine V A little hard to get into but once I understood, I thought the movie was great. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/24 Full Review maria p b Costumes and decors of 1957 Italy. The movie shows more an ambiance of post war car racing and 3 major car italian magnates competition than technical aspects and races. Very well portrayed Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/24 Full Review Charlotte It was a fun movie for fans of auto racing. At times, it was difficult to understand the accents. Makes you realize how far safety has come along for the better. The movie was entertaining. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Doris H I love true stories, and this was one that was told very well. The acting was superb and the movie was well done.
