Critics Consensus

Josh Hartnett's go-for-broke performance gives Fight of Flight wings, sustaining this daffy action-comedy at an entertaining cruising altitude that refreshingly doesn't wear out its welcome.

Kristy Puchko Mashable This is a movie where a disavowed spy fires up a chainsaw on an airplane in flight. Get on board, or be bored elsewhere. May 16, 2025 Full Review Robert Daniels New York Times Hartnett and Chandran’s laid back chemistry steady the film’s turbulent tonal shifts, adding a punch that the shakily choreographed action lacks. May 10, 2025 Full Review Katie Walsh Tribune News Service Surprisingly, Hartnett’s Lucas hasn’t worn out his welcome, even if the movie around him has fallen apart midair. Ergo, the old truism has never been truer: When it comes to “Fight or Flight,” your mileage may vary. Rated: 2/4 May 10, 2025 Full Review Kevin Carr Fat Guys at the Movies The overall story is full of clichés and is as predictable as a Harlem Globetrotters game, but it makes things work with a committed cast and its tongue firmly in cheek. This is what BULLET TRAIN could have been if it pared down its bloated running time. Rated: 3.5/5 May 25, 2025 Full Review JD Duran InSession Film There's no need for its cheap moments of sentimentality. The film does not care about any of that. It just wants to shove dead guys into tight spaces, punch wine glasses into assassin's eyes and drop kick them out of an airplane at 30,000 feet. Rated: C May 22, 2025 Full Review Fico Cangiano CineXpress Josh Harnett is great in this action comedy that's basically "Bullet Train" on a plane. And in this case, that's enough to have some fun. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/23/25 Full Review Mike P I didn’t expect much going in but it was a fun. Action-packed movie. The chainsaw scene is worth the ticket. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/23/25 Full Review Curt R Non stop action, funny in parts. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/22/25 Full Review Dave Took my son to see this as a double feature (the other being Clown in a Cornfield). Very rapid fire & entertaining. Hartnett was great and love to see him in new films as hes been MIA for a little while. Basics are all there: editing, sound, filming, acting, plot, script, action and great choreography during the fight sequences. Lots of fun and crazy manic! Really enjoyed this film and definitely worth seeing on the big screen! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/21/25 Full Review Read all reviews
