This charming account of a period in the life of author J.M. Barrie (Johnny Depp) reveals the real relationships and events that served as the basis for the author's most iconic work, "Peter Pan." After Barrie develops a platonic relationship with the widowed Sylvia (Kate Winslet) and her four sons, he is inspired to write a play about a group of children who don't want to grow up. Depp and Winslet despite their pedigree seem to suck all the fun out of the life of Peter Pan's creator J.M. Barrie. What we are left with is wishing that we knew less about the author about more about the creation.

Finding Neverland is a touching and breathtaking film that takes you to a world of imagination. The film follows playwright James Barrie as he forms a unique bond with the Davies family, which inspires him to write Peter Pan. It's a compelling story about the powers and dangers of imagination. Johnny Depp gives a brilliant performance, and plays especially well off of Freddie Highmore; creating some truly inspiring and heartbreaking scenes. Additionally, the performances by co-stars Kate Winslet, Radha Mitchell, and Dustin Hoffman are excellent. And, Marc Forster's directing is equally as impressive: wonderfully incorporating the fantasy elements of the film. In fact, everything about this film is wonderful, from the extravagant costumes to the fantastical score. Exceptionally captivating, Finding Neverland is an uplifting and magical tale.
