Great cast includes early roles for John Heard, Beverly D'Angelo, Swoozie Kurtz and lead William Katt. Only really known name was Susan Dey coming off her role in the TV series "The Partridge Family." Very "adult" for the time in regards to sex and nudity. Problem with the film lies in some poor focus in the story and direction. I could have done with fewer slow motion shots of Katt doing soccer practice runs and more exploration of the characters and their motivations which seem completely haphazard. Music includes songs by Cat Stevens and Paul Williams and an uncredited underscore by John Barry very reminiscent of his score for "The Gathering" done around the same time. (FYI, the Rotten Tomatoes synopsis for this film is completely wrong.) Rated 2.5/5 Stars •  Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I was already a "Greatest American Hero" fan for 30 years before I recently watched this movie (I was 9 years old when it came out, and unable to watch it then), but I thought William Katt did a great job in this movie as a young man in love for the first time, with a woman who doesn't know what she wants. My main question through the movie was, "Where can *I* find a guy like that??" It was an enjoyable movie with a bittersweet ending, and William Katt was hot as usual! A post-Partridge Family Susan Dey and a pre-Greatest American Hero William Katt star in this very explicit (especially for 1977) sex romp about first love at college. John Heard co-stars as his roomate, Beverly D'Angelo as his sometime girlfriend, and a sort of young looking Robert Loggia as Susan Dey's older, married lover.
