Richard B @Komard 1d First Shift struggles on nearly every fundamental level. The narrative is unfocused and poorly structured, jumping between ideas without establishing a clear throughline or payoff. What should have been a grounded, character-driven story instead feels disjointed and confused, as if key scenes or connective tissue were missing altogether. From a technical standpoint, the film shows clear signs of its low budget. The cinematography is flat and uninspired, editing is uneven, and pacing issues make the movie feel longer than it is. Performances are inconsistent, often delivered without natural flow or believable emotional weight, which further disconnects the audience from the story. Ultimately, First Shift lacks clarity, cohesion, and purpose. Without a compelling narrative or technical competence to fall back on, the film never finds its footing. Only decent part of the movie was about the main character taking care of a dog while owner was in hospital. For a cop movie NOTHING about the cop portion was anything but 0 stars.
