Une jeune ingenieure du son ecoute les bruits du passe "enregistres" au fil du temps par la maison de sa mere "fraichement" assassinee, pour tenter d'elucider son meurtre. Situee dans une France profonde assez glauque (ambiance renforcee a l'image par du grain et une photographie sombre), une intrigue originale, sorte de declinaison rurale de "Blow out" de de Palma. La virtuosite en moins mais le climat se veut austere ici. Au rayon des reproches je releve surtout un changement abrupt de la nature de la relation entre E. Dequenne et M. Demy. Elle devient d'un coup plus familiere alors que quelques instants plus tot ils se connaissaient a peine. Ca sent les scenes coupees tentant de faire naitre une liaison ambigue entre les deux pour etoffer l'histoire sur le plan emotionnel... The method by which this occurs is clunky, but there is a spooky atmosphere that always seems to be underplaying itself instead of ramping up. The murder mystery plot unfolds well and the ending is subtle. It's quite French, this.
