Carol S Native San Franciscan (born a decade after this movie) loved it. Fast-paced, complicated relationships, and so many glimpses of my beloved birthplace. Bette Davis was the stepchild who never belonged. That she took to crime involving her stepfather's firm seemed inevitable. It was amusing to see Douglas Dumbrille off his usual Western horse. Izzy was fantastic comic relief when we needed it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/28/24 Full Review Steve D Not a lot here, even at its short runtime. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/04/24 Full Review Audience Member Fast paced crime movie Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member This one is a bit muddled, so should probably be skipped unless you're a true Bette Davis fan. Mercifully it's quite brisk, at 68 minutes, and there are some nice street shots in San Francisco. One scene that was a little surprising had journalists playing a game where one bends over, not looking, and one of a group of others spanks him, and he guesses who it was. Wow, really, was that a thing? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Mysterious crime, unconventional way of solving it, witty dialog, fast paced events, car chasing, unexpected resolution. Yes we have it all in this great Warner's crime drama... Best murder mystery of its time--Bette Sucked in by Pandora's Box of Crime... Wickedly Delicious!! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Snappy, very fast moving crime drama would have benefited from better leads aside from Bette Davis who pulses with a hedonistic force towards a certain doom. Every second she's on the screen the movie is vibrant when she's off it's just okay. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
