Clyde Gilmour Maclean's Magazine Another of the strained British comedies which centre around Norman Wisdom, a sort of English equivalent of Jerry Lewis... Oct 15, 2019 Full Review MFB Critics Monthly Film Bulletin The potential that Norman Wisdom once undoubtedly possessed is quite obscured by this film -- with its silly, tawdry script and the inept direction of Robert Asher. Audience Member Enjoyable Norman Wisdom farce in only the way he knows how. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Usual Wisdom stuff this, all be it a little more self indulgent than usual. The party scene is funny though, but there are better Wisdom films. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member The general idea is quite similar to that which was used in Singin' In The Rain, but Follow A Star is not quite that good a movie. To be honest I found the film predictable and far too long. The music is passable and the acting is a little ropey, the best thing as always is Norman Wisdom who steals the show, the scene when he sings in the bath is brilliant, and there are a few other scenes which are funny. But overall the film is disappointing, something your nan might love, but other than that there is not a lot to get excited about. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Great movie with a nice touching story which is very funny. this movie really shows off Wisdom's ability to act, love it! The hypnotist scene is absolutely classic, I reccomend seeing this if its a lazy Sunday afternoon and you want a laugh! Some great music in it two showing Wisdom as a talented individual who is often forgotten! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member "Brilliant" Norman plays two character's in this movie and they both are so good,it is so good to just sit back and laugh for the world!!What I like mainly is there is no swearing,no blasphemy,no gore ,just true british tongue in cheek humour!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member why as this got the square peg cover on it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews
