Rob N Loved this film so hard! This is a glorious, wonderful & welcome return to OG independent cinema. Imagine Sideways but with beer, and a female lens. And if that doesn't make you want to watch it, I can't help you. I loved this story so much. Not just because so many friends were part of the making of it. But because I got absolutely lost in the storytelling, with heart pings throughout, reminding me why stories like this one need to be told. Uplifting. Inspired. Funny throughout. I am so proud of these filmmakers. Do yourself a favor and watch this film. Rent it. Buy it. Whatever. Just watch it! Beautiful. Profound. A reminder of the things that really matter in this world. Mix Greta Gerwig with Lena Dunham, add a dollop of Judd Apatow, and then stir in some Cameron Crowe ... and you'll have a sense of the neighborhood you need to visit. I hope everyone gets to see this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/28/24 Full Review Lauren B For When You Get Lost is an indie movie with a great story and so much heart! The writing, acting, directing, and cinematography are all incredible. I never knew exactly where the story was gonna go and that kept me invested. The subjects of overcoming your own faults and mistakes while also dealing with family trauma and grief are all so relatable. I also appreciated that it's a female-led story with a diverse cast. And I loved the soundtrack! Bravo to the entire team behind this film! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/26/24 Full Review Gavin C I really enjoyed this movie. The acting was wonderful, and the engaging story took me on an emotional journey filled with both laughter and tears. The scenic locations along the California coast were stunning, making for a truly enjoyable afternoon at the movies. I highly recommend seeing it! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/16/24 Full Review Peter S A very sweet and emotional little independent film filled with excellent performances. Quoting the film itself, it is in part a picturesque female "Sideways" through West Coast beer country but with an emotional core about a dysfunctional, untraditional sister relationship. The film maintains its humor contrasting an underlying resonating sadness from the characters' wounds not healed and a search for redemption and forgiveness. It feels authentic and familiar and will make you laugh and also leave you in tears. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/15/24 Full Review Read all reviews
