Stephen Porzio joe.ie While we can imagine some viewers feeling like the action arrives a little too late, we believe the payoff to the slow burn makes Forgive Us All just about worth seeking out for genre fans. Oct 29, 2025 Full Review Kat Hughes THN A frustrating attempt to tell an overly familiar story, sadly Forgive Us All fails to ever get out of first gear. tm11999 M good story about the horrors of NZ/aussie gov'ts lying to their people about putting everybody in camps.......you know....for their own good. those that dislike this and equate it with a "zombie" movie, miss the point. i'm surprised the leftists allowed them to include the subtle message. you can watch this. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/07/25 Full Review Walter W If you're looking for a story of redemption in a world gone dark then I might have just what you need. A lot of people feel this is already a broken world, so imagine how much worse it could get amid a viral outbreak that turns humans into cannibals? Welcome to a brand new horror movie for 2025 called, "Forgive Us All" streaming on Netflix. Lily Sullivan as "Rory" has already had to make a couple of tough, horrific choices in the opening minutes of this film. Now she must ask herself to help a stranger "Noah" (Lance Giles), forcing her to choose between isolation or redemption in the stunning New Zealand wilderness. Watch out for: Callan Mulvey as "Logan" a take no prisoners survivor of this outbreak, plus Richard Roxburgh with a Scottish accent as "Otto" in a paternal role, but not to be confused with Tom Hanks performance as "Otto". Warning: strong violence and suicide references. Goof: I'm no equestrian, but I wouldn't think you should leave a horse bridled overnight in a stable. It's a slow burn after the initial shock, but well paced with just enough action to keep intelligent people watching. They're surviving, but what are they surviving for? Theres no comfort in this dystopian not too distant future. "Forgive Us All" is a thought provoking study of isolation, guilt and trauma rather than a full on zombie movie...although the flashbacks are brutal enough. You've got a right to fear not the dead, but people in GMA jackets riding horses, wielding cattle prods in this western horror flick. It's not just the infected you have to worry about. "Forgive Us All" directed and co-written by Jordana Scott is worth 93 minutes of your time if you're a serious fan of this horror sub genre. A damn fine directorial debut. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/24/25 Full Review Slick R It's setting and script is basically a budget Walking Dead. Except the zombies move fast and cannibalize like 28 Weeks Later. She even spreads something all over her clothes to cover her scent exactly like in Walking Dead. Not worth watching since there's nothing original here. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/31/25 Full Review Phillip E Being from NZ or Australia it could have been worse. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/21/25 Full Review T B This film is an embarrassment to the genre. From start to finish it reeks of amateurism—wooden acting, lifeless direction, and a script so unoriginal it could have been assembled from discarded drafts of a dozen other zombie films. The so-called action sequences are flat, dull, and utterly devoid of tension. The story offers nothing new, trudging along in predictable beats that feel both rushed and dragging at the same time. Even visually, the film fails—the colour grading is strange and unpleasant, giving scenes an unnatural cheapness rather than atmosphere. The zombies themselves are uninspired copies of better films, with no creativity or personality in their design or behaviour. What results is a production that is not just bad, but frankly embarrassing. It’s the kind of film that sets the genre back rather than moves it forward. In a landscape where audiences expect innovation, craft, and at least a spark of originality, this sinks to the very bottom. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/22/25 Full Review Fred J How the main character has survived this long was my continual question throughout this movie. At almost every opportunity she does the exact opposite of what she should do. I found myself getting more and more exasperated every time she was on the screen...which was a lot. The father in law at least makes a lot of sense and I'm on his side the whole way. The daughter in law is an idiot. Aside from my ever growing disdain for her, the film as a whole was a long drawn out and painful watch. The horror element of the movie takes so long to occur that the movie really can't call itself a horror. It's slow, uneventful and many other films have done the same idea significantly better. Watch World War Z if you want to be entertained, watch this if you want to be bored and quite frankly annoyed that someone greenlit this thing.
