Marya E. Gates RogerEbert.com Fessenden’s tripartite chamber piece Foxhole has its heart in the right place and wears its influences unabashedly on its sleeve. Rated: 3/4 May 13, 2022 Full Review Calum Marsh New York Times The thin, superficial writing... relies on blandly sentimental monologues and an assortment of patriotic war-flick clichés. May 12, 2022 Full Review John DeFore The Hollywood Reporter A movie that almost entirely rises to the height of its ambitions. Sep 18, 2021 Full Review Liam Lacey Original Cin The bold concept aside, Foxhole’s depiction of three American wars over a century and a half lacks a compelling escalation of intensity. Rated: C-plus Jun 2, 2022 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse Foxhole is an uneven, although audacious and ambitious film, that fares better as provocative purveyor of ideas than a cohesive whole. Rated: 3/5 Jun 2, 2022 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall The film's skilful simplicity helps makes it involving and provocative, presenting an unusually complex take on the pointlessness of war. avindu g Foxhole is a cleverly crafted tribute to men and women who envisioned a better world and sacrificed their selves in it's making. Foxhole's tripartite reenactments itself is an indication of an uncured illness. That resentment and desperation is skillfully acted out by the cast. Movie is not flamboyant it's bitter and confined with limitations in which a soldier wounded , cornered or both be defined. A moment when a soldier turn out to be decidingly who they are while all walls come tumbling down and end is nearing.
