PVD HORROR _

Frankie Freako feels like a nostalgic trip filled with puppets, hot lines, and bizarres characters like something out of our favorite 80's comfort movies. Stephen Kostanski shows us once again he is an outside the box filmmaker looking to make the films he wants, straying away from whatever the popular trends may be. The human characters are hilarious, delivery dry, quirky humor that feels much like Napoleon Dynamite while the puppets here deliver a Garbage Pail Kids: The Movie energy, creating one bizarre but fun time. There's a lot to love about Frankie Freako but mainly the reason to love this film is it doesn't strive to be something it is not. Frankie Freako wants to party and that's exactly what this movie is all about, not taking yourself seriously and just enjoying the experience.

A fairly decent attempt to cultivate a B Horror experience but with some less than great sections to slog through. It’s not Bad per se but it’s not Great either… just a relatively cut and dry camp-fest that has some endearing qualities but isn’t ground breaking.

I had a ton of fun with this movie. I loved Psycho Goreman, so if you did too, you will love this. I will admit, it does have that tinge of being really cheap. However, it really transcends that sheen by being genuinely funny, having great setups, fun effects and likeable characters. It's even a little heart felt at times. It's not perfect, but rating it purely on fun, I'd give it 5 stars. I will watch again!
