Dallas H Jan 8 It feels so refreshing to watch a documentary with the old narrative structure before the days of Ken Burns or the modern basic cable "non-fiction documentary" fillers featuring talking heads comprised of comedians and "experts." This documentary is a collection of interviews with people who lived the experience of the story the movie is trying to inform us about. Those interviews intertwine with news footage and an informative narration to provide further details and facts about the events. I truly enjoyed watching this film and will want to watch it again. It is an interesting story. See more Jasmer 10/10/2022 Incredible historical document! See more 02/07/2022 A shot of honest history aimed straight for the heart. As a child I lived in the deep south for a few years- we were from New York. I realized that things were different. I was taught we are all equal. Everyone needs to see this movie. See more Alexandra H 01/24/2022 Engaging and enjoyable! This is the best movie of any kind (documentary or drama) that I've seen on the American Civil Rights Movement of the 1950's & 1960's. And, I've seen quite a number. I had just graduated high school in California and was following on the radio and TV the events of Mississippi Freedom Summer. I had also just completed a road trip through the South a year prior. The movie gives one a good sense of the South at that time and of the smart strategies and courage that the Civil Rights workers showed. Great, great documentary!
