About choosing compassion over violence and the importance of bonding, even under the most grueling circumstances. It is, however, useful as a cinematic YA novel, taking a palatably approach to an ugly chapter in our history. J Martínez What a beautiful film from start to finish. Amazing gem of an indie. Very intense, made me jump, cry, gasp, etc. However, then these lighter, touching moments would happen, little smiles, chuckles, the audience would laugh, letting you take a breath. The location and landscape are stunningly beautiful. So well acted, I wanted to embrace some characters and yell at others. The music is still in my head. Authentic and well-researched.
