Freeland has precious little dialogue, so Fairchild conveys her unspoken inner feelings using only her face and eyes. In this she excels, radiating calm, outrage, despair, and melancholic memories.

It's pretty easy to overcome these flaws when you have a central performance as good as Fairchild's. The type of work that, if it had more eyeballs, would be considered for any and every award, she is masterful as Devi.

There is a wonderful concept at the heart of 'Freeland', but it lacks a script with any substance. The cinematography is fantastic, but there was so much that could have added to the story of an aging pot farmer who can't cope with the legal loopholes and the corporations ruining her industry. Lily Gladstone continues to be a talent to watch. Despite only being in a few scenes, what she has is, as usual, very good. Final Score: 3.8/10

It's a solid performance about an older pot grower that's edged out of the business when it becomes legal. It's also a sad story about what it would be like to be at the age of retirement and trying to remain relevant in the pot world.

This film is exceptional. The acting, cinematography and directing are all worthy of rave reviews. The sound was terrific too - felt like ASMR at times. Krisha Fairchild is a gift. What an actor!
