On one of trapped housewife Evelyn Couch's (Kathy Bates) Wednesday nursing home visits, she encounters Ninny Threadgoode (Jessica Tandy), a colorful old woman who brightens Evelyn's outlook by sharing tales from her past. Love the movie, I am not a fan of the LBG....movies nowadays that are too self righteous and too much in your face. Here you've got it all: excellent acting, difficult content, silent and smooth undertones. And a lovestory for the books...I needed a hankie.

This is my all time favorite movie. It's got everything-comedy, drama, mystery, a fantastic soundtrack, great acting, a wonderful script, and story that will leave you wanting to watch it all over again. One of the most touching, heartfelt pieces I've ever seen. Please watch this movie.

Fried Green Tomatoes had the kind of overpowering warmth that makes for the sweetest entertainment. The characters are endearing, and the parallel stories are engrossing and empowering. This film does a great job making you forget what you think in order to remember how you feel.
