I have to say that i really enjoyed the film. It was funny, light hearted, and charming, and, should i say, original. Real gangsters and gangster wanna-bes who love acting to play the "original gangster" Ceasat. With so many films that simply repeat themes over and over again, great to see an original idea.

The most entertaining part of this movie was the usher walking through the theatre looking for something one of it's previous victims dropped in their haste to get away from it.

Friends and Romans is flawed, but it's charming and good natured enough that the flaws don't harm it too much. And the concept is so rich that there's room to expand on it, so perhaps the writers can try to adapt a germ of this idea elsewhere.

Saw this at the Providence premiere on Wednesday night. An excellent film, with an extraordinary cast. Michael Rispoli is the Everyman who wants a better life and wants to escape the typecast of the typical Italian "made man", so he and his friends put on a production of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar at a local theater with hilarious, madcap, and eventually redeeming results. HIGH RECOMMENDED.
