Loveland, Ohio. Home of the Frogman. In the summer of 1999, a 12-year-old named Dallas Kyle captured footage of the mythical creature, but no one believed it was real. Twenty years later, Dallas, now an amateur filmmaker struggling to turn his passion into a career, returns to Loveland with friends Amy and Scotty determined to obtain irrefutable proof that the Frogman exists. But what starts as an innocent documentary soon turns into a Lovecraftian nightmare as Dallas uncovers the horrific secrets hidden beneath Loveland's idyllic surface. Can Frogman read minds? Does he really have a wand? Does Frogman f*ck? One thing is certain. The croaks are no hoax!

Josh Goller Spectrum Culture It’s riddled with flaws, especially early on, but as a cryptid-based found footage flick that's based on a real-life legend, Frogman is still worth a midnight movie watch. Sep 12, 2024 Full Review C.H. Newell Father Son Holy Gore Anthony Cousins and co-writer John Karsko use so-called Lovecraftian aspects to give us a fresh perspective on how true stories about horrifying events are commercialised and sold as entertainment even when they have very real effects on survivors. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 2, 2024 Full Review Leo Brady AMovieGuy.com Frogman ultimately feels like an interesting premise that falls into the swamp of found footage gimmicks. Rated: 2/4 Mar 22, 2024 Full Review Jonathan DeHaan Nightmare on Film Street Frogman knows exactly how silly and absurd it is, but never backs down on its own weirdness. A wild ride of hilarious high-strangeness, gross-out gags and kooky, loveable characters. Rated: 8/10 Mar 16, 2024 Full Review Dan Scully ScullyVision The filmmaking team leans into the ridiculousness of a human-sized frog, allowing the proceedings to get a bit silly. This does not detract from the horror, however. In fact, it makes everything that much scarier. Mar 7, 2024 Full Review Terry Sherwood Film Threat The work doesn’t offer any narrative surprises, but it makes up for it with creature effects. Rated: 7/10 Mar 7, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Dan R 2023's 'Frogman' is a middle of the road found footage movie. SYNOPSIS: 'Three friends in search of the Loveland Frogman finds out that he is more than just a local legend.' As a film in general I'm not even sure it makes it into the B list category, it's at best C list maybe even D list in places. However, there's something very intriguing here especially when it comes to delving into a real life American folk legend. The film is silly if not absurd and I'm pretty sure the filmmakers know this. They never give up on the outright weirdness of the movie they've created. It's a wild ride into the world of weird, gross gags and practical effects. A homemade creature feature. Ish. 5/10 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Audience Member It was like going back in time during my viewing of Frogman. Back to a time when found footage films were following a signature found footage formula, before the formula was taken a step too far in the name of originality and cinema innovation. Frogman sticks to the basic found footage foundation and never strays far from what a found footage film is expected to be. This movie is outright SUPERB. I felt so nostalgic watching it; there was a huge smile on my face by the 20 minute mark which I have not felt in what feels like a dog's age. Great premise, great cinematography, straightforward story, sticks to a traditional format - FROGMAN IS A MUST SEE! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/20/24 Full Review jack d This movie was amazing. perfect blend of unseriousness comedy but disturbing found footage horror. i wish it was more popular as it is a really good movie. one of the best found footage movies out there. dont come into it expecting it to be scary but you will be entertained. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/05/24 Full Review Rob G Very much a poor man's Blair Witch. I'm not a fan of footage films but this was was at least worth a watch. Not horrible and not great either. I guess I can suspend disbelieve for a ghost/witch out in the woods better than a half man / half frog thing out in the woods though. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/03/24 Full Review Audience Member Starts off quite slow but the last 30-40 minutes or so is absolutely bonkers. The ending literally had me shake my girlfriend in absolute shock. 😂 It’s definitely a decent watch if you can tolerate the found footage look. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/25/24 Full Review Audience Member I wanted to like this. I mean, Sunday night is my horror night and that's not to be wasted! But, yeah, this left me feeling cheated. The movie lacked internal logic and, crucially, characters you could get behind. The quest to find Frogman was haphazard and a bunch of stoners could have organised something more structured. No-one in the town knew or recognised the main guy even though his footage was crucial to popularity of the town's legend. There was not enough horror nor enough laughs.
