Kate Sánchez But Why Tho? A Geek Community I want to love Fruits Basket Prelude because of how good Kyoko’s story is. Her story taps into everything I love about the series, but to get to it only after a 30-minute recap of the series feels completely disjointed from the meat of the film… Apr 15, 2023 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse Despite the fact that the prologue will be confusing to viewers who have not seen the original series, the main segment here definitely compensates, offering entertainment and closing of loose ends in the most elaborate fashion. Rated: 6.5 Jan 2, 2023 Full Review Samuel Leggett Jr. JVS Media & Productions/Team JVS Fruits Basket: Prelude has some amazing emotional depth. You applaud the amazing looking animation and environmental design of the world built. Each character you feel has deep history, but if you haven't seen the series you may come up a bit lost. Rated: 8/10 Dec 26, 2022 Full Review Josephine L. Geeks of Color The film is sad... But it was also a story of love and rediscovering a love for those who are important to us. Jul 21, 2022 Full Review James Perkins Starburst With pacing and narrative issues a plenty, Fruits Basket: Prelude is sadly a disappointing end to the Fruits Basket franchise... For newcomers and fans alike, this story is better left in the past and forgotten about. Rated: 2/5 Jul 20, 2022 Full Review Caitlin Chappell CBR Fruits Basket: Prelude fails to live up to high expectations as the film weighs itself down with too much exposition and lacks a clear focus. Adria I was so happy to see this in theaters!! Beautifully animated!! I've anticipated this for years and this did not disappoint. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/09/22 Full Review Steven A The Fruits Basket remake series is one of my top ten, so I was very excited to see how Prelude would expand the story. Disappointingly, the first third or so is just clips recapping the last few episodes of the final season. Without spoiling details, the new light the original part of the movie sheds on the relationship between Tohru's parents is even worse. The animation is as good as anything in the series, as are the performances of the dub cast, but overall it feels like the series would've been better off without this addition. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/02/22 Full Review Google Cutest movie!!! I already want to see it again and wish it would be in theaters longer :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/01/22 Full Review Cristina Peralta The Japanese voice acting is done really well. You can feel the emotions within it. It brings the characters to life, making them personable, and relatable. Not just the Prelude was wonderful, the whole series itself is worth the watch! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/30/22 Full Review Kassandra I Literally Couldnt Stop Crying . It Was Amazing. It Made Me Wish Katsuya & Kyoko Wouldve Had Their Happily Ever After. & it was So Nice Seeing Tohru With Her Papa! My Heart Melted With Each Scene! Its Def a 10/10 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/30/22 Full Review Wendy Love that the anime was recapped and everything was perfect to the manga Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/30/22 Full Review Read all reviews
