Audience Member I stopped 15 minutes in. The over acting, mugging for the camera, cutesy music. It was going nowhere fast Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member 2007 release (made in 2005): A worker at a wax fruit production plant runs into $5 million when he accidentally switches briefcases with another subway patron. He wants to quit his job and leave the country with his wife, but she isn't so impulsive. A surprise birthday is happening the same night at their home. Several characters populate their home, including a blackmailing undercover cop, another cop investigating the murder of the original possessor of the loaded briefcase, a wannabe comic taxi driver, the wax fruit plant boss, and others, including the actual owners of the $5M. A decent movie concept gives louder and shriller as it goes on, to the point of not caring about anyone. This is brutal. Goes from mildly funny to obnoxious real quickly. Penelope Ann Miller's character (the wife) is eventually unbearable. This plot apparently came from a stage play, hope it worked better there. Sad, because most of the cast is game for this kind of movie. Stars: Chevy Chase, Penelope Ann Miller, Armand Assante, Robert Loggia, Christopher McDonald, and Alex Meneses. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Try as he might, Chevy Chase will never make a movie worse than Nothing But Trouble. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member This is quite possibly my favorite Chevy Chase movie. Yes I'm including Three Amigo's, and Christmas Vacation, among others. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Chevy is good in this..the rest of the movie isn't. Funny Money feels like a crappy play similar to Noises Off. I didn't even finish this as I cant stand play banter. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member But the point the most people seem to be missing is that this film is an adaptation of a farcical play written by (British Playwright) Ray Cooney and as such any attempt to dissect the plot is akin to dissecting the plot of an absurdist play (see "Rhinoceros" - starring Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel) - there is no point. I think it is a reasonably good comedy, but sadly forgettable. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Michael Ordoña Los Angeles Times Any movie that starts in a wax-fruit factory can't be all bad. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 26, 2007 Full Review Chuck O'Leary FulvueDrive-in.com An old-fashioned screwball farce with a few amusing moments, just not enough of them. Rated: 4/10 Apr 27, 2007 Full Review Kevin Carr 7M Pictures I can imagine how this script played funny on stage, given the right cast. However, it just never seems to work on the movie (or rather television) screen. Rated: 1.5/5 Apr 13, 2007 Full Review David Cornelius eFilmCritic.com Welcome, Mr. Chase, to the absolute bottom of your career. Rated: 1/5 Apr 8, 2007 Full Review Jim Hemphill Reel.com Perfectly serviceable middle of the road comedy. Rated: 2.5/4 Jan 26, 2007 Full Review Bob Strauss Los Angeles Daily News The cast is uniformly pretty terrible, playing what are already broad situations over the top.
