Anton Bitel Sight & Sound This lost & allegedly dangerous film maudit may not be extant, but in his pursuit of it Delage offers a potted history... while also highlighting the imaginative power of cinema itself, capable of conjuring reality's phantoms from fictive montages. Aug 18, 2016 Full Review Jason Shawhan Nashville Scene ...it's unique and essential for lovers of French film and horror cinema. Sep 10, 2021 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed La Rage du Démon is a must see for both horror fans and film history buffs alike. Rated: 4/5 Apr 19, 2020 Full Review Chris Evangelista CutPrintFilm Running only an hour long, La Rage Du Démon is fast and breezy enough to result in a mostly pleasurable experience. Rated: 7/10 Apr 22, 2019 Full Review Drew Tinnin Dread Central As it stands, Fury of the Demon documents a time when movie magic was much more frightening and otherworldly. It's a time worth traveling back to. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 22, 2019 Full Review Charlie Oughton Starburst Fury of the Demon works wonderfully because it presents a little known aspect of the life of a man who changed the world to an audience it expects to be intelligent. Audience Member A hunk of junk/ French people yelling at a camera The documentary speaks of a mysterious missing film that has caused audiences who viewed it to lose their minds. Four of the people in the documentary viewed it during a special release in 2012 where once again, the audience lost its mind and things turned violent. The worst part about this documentary is that those four individuals never mention any of the films scenery or what the plot of the supposed film was, all they could talk about was their feelings when viewing it and how they wanted to hurt people around them. At no point was it mentioned that the film caused amnesia... This documentary just wanted to waste it's viewers' time and keep them on a cliff hanger hoping they will get a chance to know about what was contained in the actual film ( being that there were survivors from the audience riots that watched the "cursed" film being interviewed) but it never happens they just blabber at high volumes about nothing. This. doc. SUCKED. If this is supposed to be a Mockumentary, please advise your audience so they can make a sound decision if they want to watch for obscurity's sake or not. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Difficult to tell on first viewing whether this was an actual documentary or not. Interesting piece. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member If true, it is an absolutely fascinating phenomenon. This documentary is very well made. This is either 1.) One other most interesting and shocking incidents of Mass Hysteria in modern history, 2.) Some form of a tremendous supernatural event that is a rare occurrence that can actually be validated by multiple eyewitnesses, probablly even truly evil, 3.) One of the greatest hoaxes and earliest examples of film marketing in the history of cinema, or 4.) All of the above! What blows my mind is in hearing about this film for many years as one of the great "lost films" and wishing to see it as a piece of early cinematic art and an early, founding, horror genre piece, I have NEVER heard of this aspect of the film's story! Truly surprising that I did not know the lore that exists behind this film outside of being a lost film, possibly from the great Georges Méliès. If what I saw in this documentary is true, I am not so sure that I want to see it now!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
