Wow so interesting, so happy the children of donor 5114 found their siblings & have a strong bond with each other, they all look so alike. I am also very happy that donor 5114 did not refuse to have contact with the children he has fathered, he sounds like a remarkable caring man ❤️ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/12/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie was insightful as well as interesting. Only a gifted filmmaker could obtain such intimate information from both the donor siblings as well as their parents. Watching the growth of the siblings over an 8 year period was fascinating. The connections that were made with each other were heartwarming. The central quest of finding one's identity was something most people can identify with. I, as a viewer, felt privileged to be on their journey. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Loved this documentary! It gives the viewer an intimate glimpse into the lives of some of the 37 donor siblings of Donor 5114. We get to see their similarities as well as longings to solidify their identity by hoping to make contact with the donor. The story is heartwarming and honest. Although the donor siblings have a lot in common and that, in itself, is interesting, they also are very much individuals. The bond that they establish is profound. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Richard K Great story that needed to be told. It was interesting to watch the kids develop personally and interpersonally. Particularly touching were the comments by the donor at the end, even as we only saw his back. He wished his potential offspring luck while becoming a donor. They lucked out having him as that donor. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/16/21 Full Review Audience Member Amazing in every way. Wow!!!! An important film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Honest and raw emotion. Peter Keough Boston Globe Shot with compassion, intimate access, and with perhaps too much chirpy music on the soundtrack, Future People presents a provocative and affecting look at what the future might hold for family relationships and dynamics. Jan 19, 2022 Full Review Natalia Winkelman New York Times Although "Future People" struggles to break through to the kids, an engaging family portrait emerges nonetheless - of a group clustered by biology, but bonded by a singular shared experience. Apr 9, 2021 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film Though the pacing sometimes feels a bit uneven and some scenes are repetitive, Future People is packed full of great moments and interesting people. Rated: 4/5 Apr 15, 2021 Full Review Christopher Llewellyn Reed Film Festival Today Overall, Future People engages, throughout, telling a moving drama only made possible in recent times. Rated: 3/4 Apr 10, 2021 Full Review Kevin Fallon The Daily Beast Future People distills all the extreme cases and out-there TV loglines to this simple commonality: People have an innate desire to know who they are and reach their full potential, so what connections can we seek out, biological or otherwise...
