Dennis Harvey Variety Given the gradually upticking arc of his opuses' IMDb ratings to date, Woodward should finally score a 6 out of 10 sometime next year. He's got the perspiration part down; surely inspiration can't hold out much longer. Dec 2, 2017 Full Review John DeFore The Hollywood Reporter Respectable period production values and some recognizable castmembers are no substitute for imagination in this flat crime flick, which steals freely from its predecessors but offers none of their guilty-pleasure thrills. Dec 1, 2017 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times The ideal audience for "Gangster Land" would be someone who's never seen "The Untouchables" or "Boardwalk Empire" ... or, heck, even "Guys and Dolls" or "Bugsy Malone." Nov 30, 2017 Full Review Bobby LePire Film Threat Gangster Land tells a story of the mafia that is as old as time. But in defiance of the independent nature of the production, it captures 1920s Chicago with verve and immaculate detail. Rated: 8.5/10 Dec 6, 2023 Full Review Alejandro Turdó Hoy Sale Cine Even without becoming a ground breaking piece within the Mob genre, Gangster Land manages to put together a decent gritty action drama about what happens when greed, corruption and violence collide during one of the most brutal times in modern America. Rated: 7/10 Dec 6, 2023 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue However well-intentioned it might be, the script is woefully overburdened with genre clichs and historical embellishments while treading familiar territory that's been done much better elsewhere. morigu p I didn't mind this movie. It was done well enough and it had a decent amount of action. I knew nothing of "Machine Gun Jack" and I actually enjoyed the story. The time lapse around the end was a little disappointing and needed a some closed captions but all in all I would say a decent enough movie to watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Pure garbage. It's almost as bad as the Irishman. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazingly has a 4 star rating on Netflix. A few half known names doesnï¿ 1/2 1/2(TM)t make up for a predictable yet incoherent script full of clichï¿ 1/2 1/2 (C)s. Was half bearable but I did ask myself why I was watching it at times. Then we reached the end - what a waste of time Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review mauro l To sum up, it would be because John D. Rockefeller bribed Congress if we have a movie like that today. (Mauro Lanari) Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Great choice of cast to bring this story to life. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review waleed a useless. super boring. i was 0 invested in anything. couldn't get thru it, even on fast speed (1 viewing) Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
