01/29/2013 Absolutely fascinating story on how a "recycling" system came about in Cairo out of poverty. Essentially the poor recycled so that they could get a few pennies to make it through their daily lives. Incredible. I was glad for the inclusion of the female social worker as otherwise it would have felt very masculine dominated which is true to the culture, I suppose. Even though I claim to be a middle class Egyptian but I didn't knew before I see this film about the world of Al-Zabaleen area in Manshyiet Naser neighborhood. Mai Iskander have done a good effort to show these people for real we're all wondering how she managed to bring the humanity side from those boys on the surface. And how much it was inspiring to see those people try to develop themselves & get respect from the society.
