Stephanie Zacharek Salon.com A kooky, madcap adventure set in Barcelona devolves into a sort of sub -sub-Almodovar picture. Stay for the opening credits, then leave. Mar 29, 2003 Full Review Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter For a while, the sheer exoticism of the characters and the setting provides a certain amount of interest, but the film's farcical situations, mostly involving the sexual orientation of its characters, ultimately prove tiresome. Mar 24, 2003 Full Review Lou Lumenick New York Post A mildly entertaining gender-bender comedy set in Barcelona, never quite lives up to its excellent cast or the onetime promise of director Susan Seidelman. Rated: 2/4 Mar 21, 2003 Full Review Jordan Hiller Bangitout.com Gaudi Afternoon is mostly dream, part nightmare, and part morality play surrounding the concept of mothering a young girl. Audience Member Tardes de Gaudí [2001] Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The film's unique style carries it as far as it goes, but it could have gone much farther still. Extremely pointless and annoyingly silly, this one really doesn't know where it's headed. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member The scenery is beautiful, the music is great, but the story never actually manage to move me. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Marcia Gay Harden makes for a hot transsexual. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member An amazing, hilarious, and beautifully acted arthouse film. I've watched this five times now and I'll never be sick of it.
