Lindsey Bahr Associated Press This is a raucous, non-stop ride that is a little rough around the edges but also unexpectedly endearing, not unlike the four teens at the center. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 30, 2020 Full Review Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle Doff honors those traditions of British comedy by making them feel fresh again. Most importantly, he still makes his four teen tossers a squad for whom to cheer. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 4, 2020 Full Review Robert Levin Newsday It's fun and the satire has a bit of depth to it, even if the movie never quite carves out its own identity. Rated: 3/4 Aug 31, 2020 Full Review Paul Lê Nightmare on Film Street Based on its merits as a comedy, Get Duked! is reasonably fun so long as you enjoy the works of Edgar Wright. Rated: 9/10 Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Erick Estrada Cinegarage ... A juvenile comedy that is an allegory on adolescence and its hardships. [Full review in Spanish] Nov 16, 2022 Full Review Jason Shawhan Nashville Scene Get Duked! is a fun adventure stuffed to the gills with scrappy young folk, a darkly absurdist sense of humor and genial trippiness (thanks to the Scottish Highlands' hallucinogenic rabbit droppings). Liam S I only joined Rotten Tomatoes so I could give this a 5 star. Superb! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/03/22 Full Review Emma M Brilliant, silly, funny, endearing. Sharp as a fork! We loved it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/29/22 Full Review Audience Member Unexpected and entertaining, this movie takes you through quite the ride while exploring the Highlands. Shout out to the writing and 4 lead performances. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review William L It's like a mix of Attack the Block and Hot Fuzz, but doesn't have quite the same level of charm associated with either. Get Duked! has a fair bit of dark humor, modern satire, and goofball shenanigans, but has a story that clearly worked backwards to try incorporate a series of self-references and narrative loops without taking the time to smooth out the edges; you can see the heavy influence of Edgar Wright, but not nearly the same polish. At times the humor is either too on-the-nose for its own good, or devolves into "haha, these guys are chavs". Still, there's enough charm and humor here to fill out a nice sub-90 minute runtime, nice enough weekday night viewing. There is a funny little fight between the late Duke of Edinburgh and a high school kid with a sharp fork, so that's neat. (2.5/5) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/09/22 Full Review tom m A silly diversion. Entertaining enough. Though the thick Scottish accents made it difficult to understand the dialogue sometimes. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review sean g Must see UK movie, so funny, well made, great cast , enjoy Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
