alan g John Travolta at his cool best. Good plot. Great acting except for Devito. He brings the whole movie down. Fast forward through his scenes. It does detract from the movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review M B Too much of John Travolta regressing back into Vinnie Barbarino for my taste Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/15/24 Full Review John G The Critics consensus is right on. Entertaining and constantly engaging spoof of Hollywood-Miami gangsterism. Travolta's lead role is strong. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/16/24 Full Review Nigel C The only movie I have ever walked out on. I put up with it for about half way through but just didn't,t get it. I guess I,m in a minority here. It was soo slooow... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/15/23 Full Review Alec B Despite the screenplay easily (and far too quickly) tying up all it's loose ends, it remains an enjoyable trifle. If the Travolta that gave this performance showed up more often he'd be infinitely more successful. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/13/23 Full Review s c Well done adaptation of Elmore Leonard's humorous story about "movie people who want to be gangsters, and gangsters that want to be movie people." The strong cast performs beautifully. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

David Hunter Hollywood Reporter How cool can a mere movie be? A perfect cast and great script, based on a hilariously witty best seller, are key elements. When you add a talented director and let the magic of Hollywood take over, the result is Get Shorty. Oct 25, 2019 Full Review Manohla Dargis Spin Like the Elmore Leonard novel it adapts, Get Shorty is fast, very funny, minorly caustic, and about as consequential and lasting as the movies Chili himself tries to green-light. Oct 25, 2019 Full Review Carol Buckland CNN.com It's terrifically entertaining. Jan 5, 2018 Full Review Margaret A. McGurk Cincinnati Enquirer DeVito's wicked version of a self-absorbed superstar is worth the price of admission alone. Rated: 3.5/4 Aug 19, 2021 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins The screenplay is brilliant (based on the novel by Elmore Leonard), interweaving fast-paced dialogue with sharp editing and plenty of humor. Rated: 9/10 Sep 13, 2020 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Get Shorty - for all its critical and commercial acclaim - has never received its due as one of the funniest Hollywood films of modern times.
