Chris Bennion Times (UK) Joseph Mankiewicz directs a film that effortlessly switches between gentle comedy and pathos, melodrama and fantasy. It’s a beguiling charmer. Apr 5, 2023 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com The Ghost and Mrs. Muir is one of the most passionately romantic motion pictures I’ve ever seen. Rated: 4/4 Oct 2, 2022 Full Review James Agee TIME Magazine The film's whimsy is a bit heavy-handed and it is short on wit, style and ingenuity. Yet most of it is pleasant enough fun, and pretty to watch. Mar 2, 2018 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand Less ghost story than romantic fantasy of impossible love, this moody classic from director Joseph Mankiewicz is a refreshingly mature and down to earth bittersweet romance. Mar 2, 2024 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins The third act is astounding - a heavy-hitting, emotional, dreamy conclusion on par with epic romances like "Wuthering Heights." Rated: 10/10 Jan 2, 2022 Full Review Jack Moffitt Esquire Magazine The direction is smooth and the script has a relaxed good taste as it deals with piquant situations. Even the bit parts are played with distinction. Mar 11, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Deke P It's a classic! So, 5 stars. Very interesting plot, as the title suggests. Saw it on the tv set some yrs ago. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/13/24 Full Review Alec B A near perfect Gothic romance. It embraces all of the trappings of the genre but never does so without neglecting the characters. That Bernard Herman score is gorgeous, truly one of his best. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/24 Full Review Alan W Obviously it's a film of it's time, but I saw it as a child and was charmed by it then, as I was today, more than half a century later.
