Rebecca Johnson Film Focus Online Unfortunately, Ghost Planet is almost completely let down by its poorly written and delivered dialogue, that feels very lacklustre against the bold and out-there location. Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 21, 2024 Full Review Alejandro Turdó Hoy Sale Cine Saving the best for the third act, Ghost Planet delivers an entertaining small scale Sci-Fi adventure with a lot of heart and tons of love for the genre making the best out of its budget constraints and teasing us with a potential sequel. Rated: 7/10 Jul 18, 2024 Full Review Daniel M. Kimmel North Shore Movies For a low-budget production that was funded on Kickstarter, GHOST PLANET is a lot better than it has any right to be. A decent if pulpy script combined with impressive visual effects makes it an entertaining sci-fi outing. Jess W A group of astronauts travel to a desolate planet, uncovering a lone survivor who may hold the key to unlocking its alien technology. But when a gang of mercenaries show up, a deadly fight for survival ensues. It all makes for a pulpy throwback space western vibe that never takes itself too seriously, with a likeable cast and pacing that moves briskly enough to keep things fun. For a low budget indie, it also looks impressive, with almost every shot of the film featuring at least one complicated visual effect. It's incredibly ambitious and, having dabbled a little into VFX world myself, the fact that it's even possible to make something like this on a micro budget shows just how far we've come in the last 20 years. Well worth a watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/12/24 Full Review Eric V I have to say that I was really shocked by how much I enjoyed this movie as a sci-fi fan. As it started with somewhat dated computer animation for the space scenes, my expectations were low. But the plot and the actors were terrific - the direction as well. Even the animation grew on me as the movie went on. The end of the movie left the door wide open for a sequel, which I truly hope will come soon. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/02/24 Full Review Tom S Ghost Planet took me on an adventure to a mysterious world. I enjoyed the character dynamics and the film's sense of adventure. It’s an original, good old-fashioned sci-fi yarn, and I would definitely recommend it if you've seen everything else and are looking for a light spaceship tale. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/25/24 Full Review Peter T In the first few minutes of this movie i am left thinking "What? Did he just say that? "The hot girl is my sister ? " Ok, right from the start we know the writing was done by a moron, then i am left wondering if i should continue & i wish i had not, the acting & writing are absolutely crappy. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review Krafty E Perhaps one of the worst films I've seen, genuinely awful acting, remarkably so, hideous CGI, boring premise, I know this is 'indie' but someone along the production line should have pulled the plug before more money was wasted. Thanks xoxo Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/21/24 Full Review Ruby C "Ghost Planet" is an aspiring indie sci-fi film that is mostly shot on a green screen with some pretty impressive CGI effects. The story is about three siblings who go on space mission to find the claim of the century in hopes for the biggest monetary gains. After a first failed attempt they are given a second chance. The film is entertaining, engaging, and visually appealing. There is not a dull moment as the events that take place are unpredictable. The city feel and floating cars were reminiscent of Blade Runner. The actors did a great job of telling the story in a believable way so that I was able to enjoy the ride the film took me on of suspense and the possibilities that may exist in the cosmos. "Ghost Planet" was a fun watch and one that I definitely recommend, especially for anyone that loves sci-fi. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/09/24 Full Review Read all reviews
