Stefanie H This movie is exactly what I wanted it to be! It's quick and quirky, with laughs, uniqueness and a surprising amount of heart. A slacker 12th place hot dog eating contest winner named Kevin Peterson is mistaken for his brother Kyle Peterson and is recruited into a secret paranormal fighting agency called the Ghost Punchers by their fearless and intimidating leader Ms. Frost. He is partnered with Ms. Shadow (a literal nightmare) and he has to build his courage to Punch Ghosts. Included in the Ghost Punchers agency are combat partners Mr. Corn and Ms. Raven (the succubus) who crack me up. Due to Kevin Peterson's cowardice, his longtime crush Delilah Dusk is taken over by a ghost who opens a portal to Ghost land. Ms. Shadow and Kevin Peterson (who Ms. Shadow not-so-lovingly calls Pete) have to work together to fix this problem they created, without Ms. Frost finding out. I love Kevin Peterson! (Emilio Picayo plays the lovable slacker in this film so well.) And I love Ms. Shadow, she is so whimsical and magical, and fun to see what she comes up with next, Regina Famatigan did an excellent job bringing her magic to life while keeping her grounded and relatable. Every character in this film is unique, interesting, played extremely well (this entire cast crushed it with their performances) and the visual effects are so fun and add a lot to the story, and the 80's style synth-wave adds so much to this film. This is a movie I can see myself coming back to and re-watching over and over again. Excellent job to the writer/director Kalani Hubbard, and I can't wait to see what he comes up with next.
