Chris M I can see why the American market changed the title to "Glory At Sea". Because the original title was an insult to Americans. Since this was AFTER WWII, a tad offensive. But there's also no real Glory at sea either. It's more drama than war drama. The rare battle to see screentime was just stockfootage from real battles. I might be a tad sick but watching real people die just to cut corners on the budget is the line I draw. That's disrespectful to the humans that really died for a cheap movie. When stunt planes and models can have made the battle scenes. It does have a great cast of British greats but not given much to do with these generic stock characters and some are assholes. The Captain was anal about cleanliness on a Destroyer in the middle of a war. I think surviving and winning the war was priority than the white glove test for dust. If this was England was doing during the war, no wonder they almost lost. It's unappealing, and just a snooze. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/13/22 Full Review iain m Old fashioned but gripping - the scene where the captain gets a telegram about his son is true drama at its best. Formulaic, but fun. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member All too familiar looking World War II movie peppered with household name actors in stereotypical roles - including early roles for the likes of Sid James. Let down badly by the incredibly shoddy special effects and model-work in the films battle-scene finale. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
