As their country is at war with Iraq, Gilaneh (Fatemeh Motamed Arya) and her daughter, Maygol (Baran Kosari), travel across Iran in an attempt to find pregnant Maygol's husband. Years later, in 2003, as America is at war with Iraq, Gilaneh is at home in Iran, dealing with lingering problems from the Iran-Iraq war.
