william d Good, but not great, mid 20th century Japanese film. If you're a fan of Japanese cinema from that era (as I am) you will probably like it. If not, you should probably give this one a pass. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Early 50's Naruse Toho effort, a mix between his early and later stylistics, and a showcase for Kinuyo Tanaka as a capable geisha raising a young son, making little money at a struggling nightclub.
