Michele D There are so many movies where disgusting and filthy creatures known as men are praying on females, torturing and raping them and manipulating them like no other. This was probably one of the most horrific movies that I’ve seen of torture and manipulation and it just breaks my heart That this has been going on for so many years in this world. I can’t wait till God destroys those despicable human beings like this guy was. It’s a shame he wasn’t tortured while he was in jail. Janice should not have gotten off scott free. Yeah she might’ve been initially a victim, I’m still in the middle of watching the movie, but she allowed it to go on for seven years. It breaks my heart what Colleen went through, and there really needs to be tougher laws in situations like this. And I don’t believe in making deals where the other person gets off just because they admit that they knew to some things. Obviously the people that are willing to take these deals don’t have any conscience or morals still, or they would do it and come forward because they know it’s right, not just so they can save their skin. This guy was pure evil. Sick. The part of the movie where she found a Bible or some book when she was scrubbing the floors, and Janice came up and asked her what was she doing & to stay out of her things, and Colleen asked her if she was a Christian, we’ll obviously they’re not Christians or they wouldn’t be doing what they’re doing. But then again a lot of people profess to be Christians who don’t know anything about being a Christian, or a true Christian anyway. So many evil people in this world thatare downright descendants of the devil. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/02/25 Full Review Erica A Lot of aspects of the true story were either completely changed or left out. For example the couple already had a baby when they kidnapped her that’s what made her feel safe to hitchhike with them but in the movie the baby is completely gone. Also the real kidnapper is an old ugly looking guy so I find it gross they got a young attractive man to portray him. The couple in real life weren’t close in age he actually started dating the girl when she was really young and he groomed her. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/02/25 Full Review Courtney K movie-wise it's just okay; i found this recommendation on an online forum & had no idea it was based on an actual true story until I was looking for reviews & saw the documentary/wiki articles. the actual story of Colleen's kidnapping is absolutely disgusting, heartwrenching, & almost unbelievable. the movie hardly even touches the surface - it's really quite mellow. the movie almost seems to be Janice's story & not Colleen's - which is fine, but I think I would recommend the documentary over this. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/25/24 Full Review Audience Member This movie was very slow. It wasn’t until close to the end that it actually got interesting. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/20/24 Full Review Mohamed G The film featured the psychological aspects of the victim and the impact of the event on her. Presenting Colleen Stan's story in a generally acceptable dramatic setting, those who watched the documentry will find that more terrible things have happened. I enjoyed the movie and liked the look of the cast and how they were trying to bring the original picture of kidnappers closer, Good movie and worth a watch.
