The same sturdy conventionality that made Gladiator a hit means that it’s built to last without standing particularly tall. With apologies to Ridley Scott, it holds up fine without echoing into eternity.

Fine cast of actors bring this epic movie to life and you feel you're an eye-witness to the intrigue of ancient Rome, the grand-scale battles in Germania, and of course gladiator fighting in the Roman coliseum. This movie is rich in action scenes, enhanced by the big screen cinema and powerful sound. Puts you right there. If you want the ultimate viewing experience, don't rent this movie, see it at the theatre. Gladiator won five Oscars in 2001 you won't be disappointed.

Watching Gladiator (2000) is exactly as cringe-worthy and disinteresting than watching pre-recorded footage of a LARP session. Cannot recommend it.

Nothing but a gore fest with pretentious dress up. The acting is sub par. Crowe is a bad actor that got really fat because he a joke. Crows emotional range is small. They take ancient roman and put in a MAN WHOSE WIFE AND KID WERE KID AND WANTS REVENGE. I NEVER HEARD THAT BEFORE LOL.

Such a great film, Russel Crowe IS Maximus, making it truly fantastic. Hate the last 5 minutes and the "who will bury him" bit, but aside from that fantastic in every way
