With thought-provoking themes lurking beneath its absurd premise, Glorious is a brightly blood-spattered genre treat from director Rebekah McKendry.

Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald Director and horror obsessive Rebekah McKendry pays both homage and fromage to H.P. Lovecraft, David Cronenberg and Stanley Kubrick in an enjoyably loopy movie that has a sense of humour and visual style. Sep 8, 2022 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com As gruesomely hysterical as much of Glorious may be, the foundation of toxic masculinity it’s built upon is anything but silly, McKendry giving it the brutally grisly evisceration it deserves. Rated: 3/4 Sep 3, 2022 Full Review Peter Debruge Variety Even at 80 minutes, “Glorious” feels four times too long for what it is. Aug 19, 2022 Full Review Sarah Vincent Cambridge Day The limited number of cast members and restricted location heightens the tension because the viewer is as trapped as the protagonist. It’s an arresting odd-couple character study, bleak yet wrapped up with an ending worthy of “Tales of the Crypt.” Rated: 2.5/4 Jun 9, 2024 Full Review Lee Zumpe Tampa Bay Newspapers Director Rebekah McKendry plumbs the depth of Lovecraft’s fundamental philosophy in “Glorious,” a grungy, gross, intoxicatingly transgressive locked-room nightmare. Oct 26, 2023 Full Review Pramit Chatterjee Digital Mafia Talkies Director Rebekah McKendry and her team understand the elasticity of the premise. Utilize it too poorly, and it can end up being forgettable. Stretch it too much, and it can end up being boring. But they hit the sweet spot. Rated: 4/5 Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Andy B A nice little pot boiler of a horror film. The main character finds himself trapped in a rest room and has an extended conversation with someone in the adjacent cubicle - who turns out to be there for a very unusual reason. Great performance from the lead. Clever story, good pacing and a great combination of horror and comedy. I always enjoy it when a film makes me laugh and feel mildly guilty about laughing. A must for lovers of Lovecraft who have been waiting for a good script that updates the Mythos for a modern audience. Manages to get over the feeling of eldritch horror without disappointing at the end. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/08/24 Full Review Justin M Good idea, bad execution. Garbage Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/05/24 Full Review Emilliano Jr S It was overly weird but satisfying. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/29/24 Full Review Rob W Awesome Lovecraft film. I'm a huge fan of the monsters that cannot be seen premise. It lets imagination take over. Many of Lovecraft's deities are like this. JK Simmons voice carries so well. The guy in the show was pretty good too. The acting was very good imo. With so many Lovecraft movies getting the ultra low budget/bad writing/bad acting treatment it was great to see one that really did check all the boxes. You should definitely watch this. A very original movie. I'd love to see more like this. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review Amanda H Super weird but different and entertaining! Would recommend if you are into weird movies. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/07/24 Full Review Cristian s Peliculón, sencillamente algo completamente nuevo, distinto, fresco y original.
