Roberta T I have actually never wrote a review. I am 64 years of age and was thinking of this movie the other day and decided to look it up. I have read many of the reviews and I am curious if these comments are coming from people who've watched it in the new millennium. The reason why I ask this is because I myself watched this movie back in 1973, when I was 13. It was an after school tv movie. I looked forward to these special movies when they aired. I would like to share with you that the reason why I was looking for this movie, is because after watching it, it made a huge impact on me. I had many friends who were already doing drugs and always trying to get me to use them as well. Because of this movie, I was "scared straight" let's say. Back then, they made the movies to try to educate the teenagers of the consequences that were to happen if you chose these ways. They had the belief, if they could reach one person, then it would be worth it. I am here today on this review to share with you that, "I was that one they were able to get through to." If you look at this movie in comparison to where we are today as far as movies are concerned, there is none. However, if you were able to view it from the view point of a teenager back in 1973, it spoke volumes. A teenager back then, who's only opportunity was to watch movies on t.v., did not watch to critique, they watched for entertainment, or/and education. I'm not sure if anyone will even read this, but it makes me feel good to share from the view point of "THIS 13 YEAR OLD IT MADE A DIFFERENCE TO IN HER LIFE". Robin Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/13/24 Full Review Audience Member Really dated but also still hits home. Addicted to speed for the weight loss is still going strong. Opioids now took over. I am not much younger than Alice as I was 8 when this movie came out and I never heard a dealer called a "pusher." The end is oh come on your daughter o.d. and all you say is Alice died last semester of high school one of 5,000 teens to do so.'' Have a little heart mom!!! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review hayley b i feel like this film teaches an important story, to some its just a "crap film" but please listen to what this tells some people, especially as a true story, this is someones real story brought to life by film. I had to read the book in highschool and it has always stayed with me. as for the film i thought the production and direction was pretty good, it's worth a watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Obvious an after school TV movie about a teenage addicted to drugs and her spiraling downfall. Mediocre at best. Watch 13 instead.
